Transcript

It is time for your Fearless Monday Minute. Where and when to warm up physically and vocally is a question that a lot of our Fearless clients ask. And I like to think of warming up as not just one event, but it is something that you’re doing throughout the course of the day when you are going to give a meaningful presentation. I like to think of warming up first at home, oftentimes we feel a little bit more free, feel a little bit more relaxed. And I think a shower is a wonderful place to really make use of the steam, really stretch out that body, do some roll downs, get those spaces that are really trapped with some tension. And then as you get nearer to your event, I think three exercises that are really useful, are humming to bring the voice very forward and very present and you can also do that without drawing a lot of attention to yourself. The second is some jaw tension work so just relieving the tension in the jaw. And then finally some articulation work just to ensure that again, the tongue and the teeth are active and poised and ready.
