It is time for your Fearless Monday Minute. I came across a study from 1999 where people were looking at social situations and people were allowed to respond to their greatest fear. So 74% said their greatest fear was a party with strangers, 70% said giving a speech, 65% said asking personal questions in public, 59% said meating a date’s parents, 59% said first day on a new job, 56% said victim of a practical joke, 53% said talking with someone in authority, 46% said a job interview, 44% said a formal dinner party, and 42% said a blind date. So if we look at all of these, all of them, except for one, which is being the victim of a practical joke, has to do with public speaking. There is no such thing as private speaking, all speaking is public and the fact that you’re afraid just means you’re a human being on the planet.
